CUstom Built hetErogeneous Multi-core ArCHitecture(CUBEMACH)

Design Paradigm based Simulator

This CUBEMACH(Heterogeneous Multi-core) simulator is under test. Since this is an entirely
new architecture Design Paradigm, we need feedback from the user.

Presentation introducing the user guide here.

The User Guide of the simulator is available here.

Version 3.0 uploaded on 18th April 2012

Version 3.0 has Integrated Optimizer added to the Version 2.2, in addition to Version 2.1, few more algorithmic workloads have been included. In Version 2.1, the users can generate their own workloads using the BENSIM graph generator and the library designer tool. Provisions to change the parameter values of the heterogeneous architecture are given to the user in the form of Graphical Interface.
Control and Command instructions, which were disabled in version 2.0, have been enabled in version 2.1. In addition, a list of Multi-stage Interconnect Networks(MIN) have been provided from which the user can select one.
Version 3.0 comes along with an optimizer. The input specifications (performance and power requirements) are fed as input to the optimizer. The optimizer finds suitable values for the architectural parameters, the architecture corresponding to which best matches the input specification for the user generated workload.

The version 3 of the CUBEMACH simulator contains the executable file called CUBEMACH which is executable.

The simulator has been successfully tested on the following system configurations

  • Processor : Minimum of Intel Pentium 4 processor and greater versions with minimum of 2 GB RAM
  • Operating system : Ubuntu 9 and 10 or Fedora 10 and greater.
  • Sotware Requirement: Qt Creator, a cross-platform C++ integrated development environment which is part of the Qt SDK

Procedure:

  1. Download and extract the file.
  2. Open a terminal and get to the file location CUBEMACH-3.0 where the file has been extracted
  3. Type the command

./CUBEMACH.out [(dot)(slash)(CUBEMACH)(dot)(out)]

to start execution

Enter the desired values in the graphical interface as per given in the guide and start the simulation.

Obtaining Results:

  1. Find the dump in the 'Output' folder.
  2. Open each .xls file and select the data
  3. Click on 'plot graph' option to obtain the graphs.
It will be difficult to work with the simulator without reading the User Guide.

To download the simulator, read Terms and Conditions

Occurence of errors may be due to variations across systems. In case of any errors encountered during execution, Kindly report to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it immediately. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
